Mark Unterberg’s Bigger Game is a very grounded medley of espionage and thriller. Set in across multiple locales, from Israel to North Carolina, it follows a secretive US government agency who have developed an efficient -allegedly bloodless- solution to war.

However, every innovation has its price. And when Sheriff Judd starts discovering strings of dead bodies in his town, he embarks on an investigation that leads him on a crash course with the government.

Bigger Game is a very grounded book that keeps readers on its edge. Unterberg managed to bring out the most thrilling parts of espionage and mystery, ending each chapter on a cliffhanger that leaves you more curious than the last.

This is a highly readable thriller based on a credible medical premise, encompassing multiple locales, memorable characters and current geopolitical crises. It is ripe for a sequel and for an Amazon Prime series

Fans of militaristic espionage and detective thrillers will enjoy this nail-bitter from Mark Unterberg. It starts out like a militaristic espionage movie, complete with fighter jets, strike teams, and international subterfuge. But eventually, what starts out as a novel powered by international relations becomes a personal thriller surrounding Judd Stewart, sheriff in the San Juan Islands. Unterberg’s writing style is vivid and filled with suspense. Although the military and espionage aspect was good, I enjoyed the thriller aspect a lot more. Creating tension and suspense is definitely where Unterberg’s writing shines through. I would encourage this book for fans of thriller novels, or people who enjoy spy books.

Science run amok! Well told tale which quickly captures one’s interest. Brief chapters facilitate a quick read. A contemporary story incorporating a believable premise involving the highest levels of government. Unterberg’s debut novel is a good read.

I rarely take the time to read but loved this book. It pulls you in quickly with non stop suspense. Hopefully this won’t be the last by Mark Unterberg.
